Meet The Runway: your whole sales page, checkout and welcome email… in one sitting

the glow-up lab series
The Runway, sales pages: from sales page to "welcome". Part of The Glow-Up Lab.

I built The Runway because I was sick of the Kajabi shuffle

You know the one. 🫣

You've finally got your offer sorted. You sit down to make the sales page… and three hours later you've got seven tabs open. The page is in one place. The offer is somewhere else. The checkout is under the offer (but not where you'd think).

The thank-you page is a whole other page you have to remember to make. And the welcome email sequence lives in Marketing, hooked up by an automation you'll set up "later."

Then you go back to the sales page and realise the buttons don't go anywhere yet… because the checkout didn't exist when you made them. 😂

Ooooh and then trying to find the offer in the CTA Button dropdown list (which includes both published and drafts) and you have over a hundred offers AND you can't remember what you called it!!! ... this is that point where you throw those hands up in air and curse a little.

Kajabi has every piece you need. [YAY -- AWESOME]
It just hands them to you as PIECES. [JIGSAW PUZZLE ANYONE?]

And every time I watched someone in my community stitch them together, I'd think… this is where people give up. Not on the writing. Not on the design. On the shuffle.

So I made the shuffle disappear.

What The Runway actually does

The Runway lives inside The Glow-Up Lab, and it builds the whole path a customer walks... from "ooh, what's this?" to "I'm in" – as ONE guided setup:

  • your sales page
  • your offer AND your checkout page (in the same design as the page that sold it)
  • your thank-you page (matching your sales page)
  • your welcome email (and a walkthrough for the one bit Kajabi still makes you click yourself)

You answer a few questions, pick a design, tweak the bits you want to, and VOILA ....  press the button.

It all lands in YOUR Kajabi account as normal, editable Kajabi sections. Not a zip file you upload in 3 different places. Not a page on somebody else's platform. Your site, your pages, editable in Kajabi like anything else you've ever built there.

(This is the bit I'm proudest of, it probably sounds boring... but gosh it saves time, I'm such a nerd 🙌)

Watch it happen

That's the whole thing, start to finish, using the new Gentle Grace design. If you'd rather read than watch, keep going.

Why it starts with your offer

Everything in Kajabi hangs off the offer.

  • the price
  • the checkout
  • what people get access to.

So The Runway starts there too. Pick an offer you already have, create a new one inside the Lab, or tell it you'll sort that later.... and it then pulls the price straight into your page copy. No more sales page that says $197 when the checkout says $599. Yes, that has happened to a real person. Yes, it was me. 🙈

Because the Lab knows the offer, it also knows exactly which checkout your buttons should point to. So when the checkout page is built, the buttons on the sales page get wired to it for you. That's the "later" job that never happens… done.

Pick a design

Right now there are two:

Just Jenny – the first Runway design, and the one Wendy used (more on Wendy in a sec).

Gentle Grace – the new one. A calm, reassuring long-form page: big promise up top, a spot for your intro video, a little myth-busting, a peek at what life looks like after, testimonials, modules, the offer stack, FAQ, and a personal sign-off. It's great for coaching, courses, memberships… anything you sell gently rather than shouting.

Both designs are mine, made by hand, block by block. What changes per person is the words, the pictures and the colours.

Make it yours (this is the fun part)

Your colours.
Give it your brand colour... or pick from the brand kit you've already set up in the Lab – and the whole page follows. Backgrounds, buttons, icons, the little graphics, all of it. The dark sections stay dark, the soft sections stay soft, and the buttons come out in your actual brand colour. If you've got a second colour, it uses that for the alternating sections.
Don't love it?
Change it and watch the preview update. There's also a set of ready-made palettes if you'd rather not think about it.

Your words.
You answer a short brief about your offer and who it's for, and The Runway drafts a first pass of every section in the page for you. Every line is editable in the Lab before it goes anywhere, and editable in Kajabi after. Nothing is locked. Plus... if you'd rather... you can write your own copy, no AI assisted copy anywhere.

Your pictures.
Every image spot on the page pulls from your Kajabi media library, so you're choosing from photos you already own.
(A Penny Tip: tag your best headshots and product mockups in the media library and they'll be MUCH easier to find. Use tags like Portrait, Background, Laptop etc)

Your sections. Don't need the myth-busting bit? Hide it. Don't need a video block? Hide that too. The page tidies itself up around whatever you keep.

After They Buy

This is the step that used to be four separate jobs.

The Runway builds a checkout page that matches the sales page... same design family, same colours – with a little hero of its own where you can pop a photo and a line or two. It builds a thank-you page (published, not sitting in draft, which is a thing that catches people out) with confetti, and your name signed at the bottom. It writes a welcome email in your voice, using the name your buyers know the program by, and shows you how to hook it up so it actually sends when someone buys. (That last hook-up is a manual step for now. Kajabi hasn't opened automations up to tools like the Lab yet… I'm waiting patiently. Ish. 😅. Which is very challenging for a Gemini.)

If you want to go further... like....  order bumps, upsells, a completely different checkout look, then Cha-Ching is right there for that. But for most of us, the matching checkout is exactly what we'd have built anyway, just… in seconds instead of an evening.

And when you change your mind

Because you will. 😉

You've got two ways to change things afterwards, and the only rule is: pick one home for your edits.

Edit in the Lab. Come back to The Runway, tweak the words, swap a photo, change a colour, and update the page in place. Same page, same link, nothing to rebuild. You can do the same for the checkout hero, the thank-you photo and the welcome email.

Or edit in Kajabi. It's a normal Kajabi page, so open it in the editor and change whatever you like, exactly as you always have.

Just don't mix them on the same bits. If you change a section in Kajabi and then push an update from the Lab, the Lab writes that section again and your Kajabi edit is gone. (The Lab warns you before it does this, and any sections you've added to the page yourself in Kajabi are left alone.)
My Penny Tip: rough it out and play in the Lab, and once you start fine-tuning in Kajabi, stay there.

Wendy went to the spa

Wendy is a Full Glow-Up founder. She'd blocked out days to build her sales page for her travel program. She used The Runway with Just Jenny, added a comparison table from the Glow-Up Kit at the bottom (Kajabi doesn't have one – now you do), and finished so far ahead of herself she booked in a spa day. 💕

Then she opened the doors and made six sales before lunch.

I'm not saying The Runway made the sales. Wendy made the sales. But she made them from a page that was DONE, with a checkout that worked and an email that sent, and she got to spend the leftover time being a human. That's the whole point.

See Wendy's live page - HERE. (scroll to the bottom to see the comparison table she added as well)

Where to find it

The Runway is part of The Full Glow-Up, alongside the Glow-Up Kit, Pop Quiz and Cha-Ching. Founders have had it since the early days – this is the version everyone gets.

The Glow-Up Lab

Go glam up something. And then go book a spa day. 🪄
